| The Clearwater Company was established in 1985 by local residents Mike Elsey and Mike Abee. In 1999, The Clearwater Company became a member of the Master Pools Guild.
Membership in the Guild is by INVITATION ONLY. A company cannot simply fill out an application and be accepted. Generally there is only one Master Pools member builder in an area. Members are carefully selected based on their market position as an elite custom pool builder in their region – with a specialization in custom concrete (gunite) construction for the majority of their pools. They must be craftsmen, operating with a strong commitment to high quality, customer service and business ethics. Once all criteria are met, then the other members must approve and vote the “prospective” member in. The Master Pools Guild is a network of the finest pool builders in the world. This network provides a forum for members to share building techniques, technology and creative design ideas in their continuous pursuit of building the world’s finest pools. The Guild members embrace a common Code of Ethics relating to integrity, good business practice and respect for the rights of clients, employees and suppliers. The Master Pools Guild started in 1962, and is getting ready to celebrate its 50th ANNIVERSARY.
